About Jason O’Donovan
Jason has over 15 years of diverse experience from senior roles spanning investment banking, private equity and in-house industry across London and Dublin.
Jason is a former Vice President of Lazard where he spent several years in their Consumer, Retail, Leisure and TMT M&A advisory teams based out of London. Jason was responsible for numerous successful transactions internationally during his tenure at the firm advising some of the world’s leading investors, private equity sponsors and corporates on landmark and industry-defining transactions.
He then moved into industry and held the role of Director of Corporate Development at Applegreen, where he oversaw a number of transformational M&A and strategic developments for the business including its step-change expansion in the US through its acquisition of HMSHost, its first bond financing for the roll-out of a major redevelopment programme in New York, and the take private of the business by Blackstone and its founders.
He is a former Director of Corporate Development at global fintech leader and consolidator, ION Group, where he oversaw a portfolio of over 30 companies and was responsible for all global corporate development activities. He is also a former investor of growth equity fund, BGF, where he made minority growth investments into small businesses across Ireland.
Early on in his career, Jason worked as an analyst in KPMG London working across its Transaction Services Debt Advisory and M&A teams.
Jason holds a first-class honours Bachelor’s degree in Business & Law (European) from University College Dublin and Universidad Carlos III de Madrid. He is an ACA qualified Chartered Accountant with Distinction and a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales.
Jason enjoys cycling, tennis and being in nature. He is an adventure sports and travel enthusiast; and a fluent Spanish speaker. Jason lives in Dublin.
